A special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) is a business corporation formed with a single point agenda of raising investment capital through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) process.

This business corporation then allows investors, who want to contribute capital towards a fund, to do so and thus is used to acquire one or more businesses identified after the IPO.

Due to these reasons, this sort of shell firm structure is popularly addressed by popular media as a “blank check company “.

ESG investing has some challenges but also provides loads of opportunities

The ESG, or Environmental, Social, and Governance approach strives to achieve investment returns through ethical business practices. It allows investors to seek solutions to the challenges we face at present in the world and perform similarly, or better than traditional investments.

The Buy Now Pay Later service provided by the so-called fintech companies or disrupters offers the option of buying a product today and delaying the payment for later. You can usually schedule and spread your payments across a period of few weeks. For bigger purchases, however, the payment period may be longer.

The way that this works is that you don’t get charged interest on your purchase, instead, you’re charged a fee for availing of this service, and this can add up if you’re not careful.

There are a lot of options in the BNPL space with some of the most prominent names including — Afterpay, Zip pay, Openpay, Humm, Sezzle, Splitit, etc.

On top of this, there are also some BNPL arrangements offered through the credit card networks such as Visa and Mastercard.

Musk initially tweeted that he was suspending bitcoin payment for Tesla cars due to environmental concerns caused by bitcoin mining. Remember, the same guy bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin just in February this year and sent the bitcoin prices to an all-time high of over $63,000 USD.

Where to make money for the next decade

Many investment gurus emphasize the fact that one should consider investing for the long term rather than focus one’s energy on making a quick buck by short-term trading. I have mentioned below the list of trends that I think might shape the future landscape in investing terms.

The big keep getting bigger

In terms of digital marketing and digital advertising, size matters. The market share of total online digital revenues generated by Google (Alphabet) and Facebook is a whopping 37%. Compare that to the 2007 figure, when the two behemoths combined revenue was just 4%.

The high barriers to entry and scale advantages that these giant companies enjoy make it almost impossible for any local regional players to compete in this market.

What also works for these companies is the fact that…
